Behind a dominant performance in the circle from sophomore Alyssa Graves, the Bulldogs posted an 8-0 win over Creighton in five innings Saturday.

The contest in Omaha was the finale of the three-game series between the two teams.

Graves allowed only one hit in her five innings of work. She struck out seven Bluejays, needing only 62 pitches to get the win.

Christina Candotti got the Bulldogs on the board in the top of the first with a three-run home run to right field. It was her fourth blast of the season.

Butler built on the 3-0 lead with five runs in the top of the second. Lauren Fey started the scoring with an RBI double. Candotti picked up her fourth RBI of the day with a bases-loaded walk. Karli Ricketts pushed the final two runs across with a single to left center. The Bulldogs were able to capitalize on two errors by Creighton in the inning. All eight runs were unearned.

Those eight runs would be more than enough for Graves, who mastery in the circle concluded the contest in five innings.

In 11 innings of work in the weekend series, Graves allowed only three hits.

The Bulldogs return to action Tuesday, traveling to Ball State for a non-conference game before returning to BIG EAST play next weekend at Providence.
