WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Bulldogs hit three home runs over the first four innings at Georgetown, but the Hoyas fired back with three runs in the sixth, six in the seventh and two more in the eighth to pull out the victory.
Butler ends the 2019 season with a 26-26 overall record that includes a 6-11 record against BIG EAST opponents.

Kyle Smith and
Nathan Dill all homered in the game for BU. The first two runs of the game came home from Dill on his single to left. Gargano launched a three-run home run later that frame and Smith would hit a solo shot over the left-center wall in the fourth. A second solo home run would come in the fourth from Dill. Dill ended the game 2-for-4 with four RBI and two runs scored.
The tide turned in the later stages of the game with Georgetown hitting three homes runs to start their comeback. McCabe hit two of the three to get the Hoyas within four runs.
The sixth inning would decide the outcome with Georgetown crossing six runs across home plate. Freeman managed his first win on the mound for GU. The loss would fall to
Jack Myers.
Kevin Napoleon tossed the first six innings for Butler. He struck out three before handing the ball off to
Quentin Miller. Miller and Myers were unable to record an out on the road.
Jack Pilcher would come in for the final two innings.
