Butler women's soccer will return 21 players, bringing experienced veterans who were undefeated at home and posted an overall record of 13-6-1 in 2018.  The upperclassmen have also seen time in back-to-back BIG EAST Championship match-ups and a first round NCAA Tournament appearance in 2017.

Seniors
Butler replaces a talented 2018 senior class with another strong group of upperclassmen.

Led by returning first-team All-BIG EAST defensive player, Annika Schmidt, who was critical to the 2018 Butler defense that recorded nine shutouts. Schmidt also earned All-Region second-team and USCAA All-North/Central Region accolades. She contributed two goals and an assist during the season and had seven shots on goal.

Macy Miller will help provide a spark on the offensive side of the ball after appearing in 19 contests during the 2018 campaign.

Carly Goehring, Taylor Reid, Lauren Ronnfeldt and Alyssa Yarosz bring a wealth of experience, leadership and depth to the squad in their fourth year with the program, with the proven ability to play multiple positions and contribute in varying roles.

Cassidy Blacha rounds out the senior class, but will take a medical red-shirt for the fall season, and will return for her final season in 2020. The midfielder notched a goal and four assists in 2018. 

Juniors
Upperclassmen talent is not limited to the class of 2019. The junior group is stacked with consistent players who saw significant game minutes last season.

Defender Julia Leonard will join forces with Schmidt to maintain a strong defensive front.  Leonard was a two-time BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Week selection and was on the field for all but 17 minutes of the 2018 season.

Amanda Kowalski will fill out the defensive returner trio for the fall.  She appeared in all 20 games for the Bulldogs, notching two goals and one assist.

Midfielders Payton Black and Taylor Crowe will add to engine room of the team.  Black took five shots, three on target, across 18 matches and Crowe added an assist in her six appearances last year.

Goalkeepers Stephanie Rodriguez and Clair O'Brien will step up between the posts to anchor the Bulldog defense. 

Sophomores
The 2018 freshmen class return for year two led by BIG EAST Freshman of the Year, Anja Savich.  The Bulldog's forward was the highest scoring rookie in the conference last season. Making an appearance in all 20 matches, Savich tallied seventeen points off seven goals and three assists. She also had four game winning goals in her freshman season. 

Midfielders Morgan Kloosterman and Katie Soderstrom will also add depth to the offense.  Kloosterman was a BIG EAST All-Freshman team selection after netting three goals on the season.  Soderstrom had two goals and added four assists, while recording 23 shots in her freshman campaign.  Both midfielders appeared in every match in 2018. 

Celia Gaynor also brings experience from 12 collegiate matches, tallying three shots and an assist as a freshman.  

After taking a redshirt during her first season with the program, Gabby Smith will join Leah Goehring, Julia Dreher, and Jaycee Helmer to round out the sophomore class.
