SCOUTING WESTERN MICHIGAN: The Broncos are undefeated at 6-0 after two weeks of the regular season. Two of their three matches in Fort Wayne went five-sets and there were no sweeps in week two at the Rambler Challenge hosted by Loyola. Head Coach Colleen Munson enters her 14th season at the helm of the program. Her offense runs through Rachel Bontrager and Maggie King. Each student-athlete has over 200 attempts in just six matches. Bontrager leads the club with 100 kills, averaging 3.85 per set. Rose Duffy and Mary Marzo split time at the setter position. Duffy holds the upper hand in assists per set, but Marzo is the team leader with nine service aces. On defense, Kathleen Reilly leads all players with 129 digs. Action at the net is controlled by Janell Williams (24) and Bontrager (17).

This is the first meeting between the two programs.

SCOUTING MILWAUKEE: The Panthers are off to a 5-1 start to the 2019 season. They went 3-0 over opening weekend, but took a tough 3-2 loss to Eastern Washington in the Drake Invitational. Head Coach Susie Johnson is looking to move past an 8-22 overall record in 2018 with this fast start to 2019. Jenn Dore and Rylie Vaughn split time at setter for the Panthers. That duo shares the ball with multiple outside hitters. Milwaukee has four players with 50+ kills. Carmen Heilemann leads the way with 71.

Milwaukee leads the all-time series 30-13. Butler's last win over the Panthers came in 2010.

SCOUTING SEMO: Southeast Missouri State is 4-2 heading into the weekend after winning three-straight matches on their home court 3-0. They ran into a BIG EAST opponent in Week 1 and left with a 3-2 setback to DePaul in Springfield, Mo. Their only other loss came at Missouri State (3-1). Head Coach Julie Yankus is in her ninth season at SEMO. The winning formula for Yankus has been execution on every swing. SEMO is hitting .231 as a team and has 11 more service aces than their opponents. Laney Malloy is a player for Butler to keep an eye on. She leads the team with 77 kills (3.50 per set) and doubles as the team leader in aces with 10. Claire Ochs sets up the action, while Tara Beilsmith lines up the defense.

Butler is 4-2 all-time against Southeast Missouri State. Their last win over the Redhawks came in 2012.

ALL-TOURNAMENT TEAM: Elizabeth LaBue made the 2019 Hampton Inn Bowling Green Invite All-Tournament Team.

DOUBLE-DOUBLE TRACKER: Four different Bulldogs have posted a double-double over the first six matches of the season. Setter Megan Ramseyer leads all Bulldogs with four. Anna Logan is close behind with three and Brittany Robinson is responsible for two. Rounding out this group is Megan Sheridan who went for 13 kills and 13 digs at BGSU last weekend.

NCAA RANKINGS: Butler leads the BIG EAST and ranks 24th in the NCAA in team attacks per set (38.92). They are also third in the league and 21st in the country in team total attacks (934).

Anna Logan leads BU with 278 total attacks. That number leads the BIG EAST and ranks 16th in the nation.

MAKE IT COUNT: Newcomer Megan Sheridan leads the team with a .299 attack percentage. She has 63 total kills on 147 attacks with just 19 errors.

Sheridan led Butler in kills for the first time in her young career in the match at BGSU.

HEY, I KNOW YOU: Western Michigan freshman Rose Duffy and sophomore Meredith Phillips are from nearby Fishers, Ind.

SEMO Head Coach Julie Yankus has ties to Milwaukee. She played for the Panthers from 1998-2001.

UP NEXT: Butler will host the Bulldog Brawl next weekend. Pacific, Belmont and Loyola Marymont will all visit Hinkle Fieldhouse for the two-day tournament.

Illinois will also participate in the event. The Fighting Illini are ranked No. 14 in the latest AVCA Top-25 Coaches Poll. They will face Pacific and Loyola Marymont, but not Butler or Belmont.
