Princeton Defeats @ButlerUFootball 49-7

PRINCETON, N.J. – The Princeton Tigers posted a 49-7 win at Powers Field over Butler on Saturday night to push the Bulldogs to 1-3 on the season.

How It Happened
After punting on their first drive, Butler forced the Tigers to turn the ball over on downs. With Princeton forcing the Bulldogs to punt on their next drive, the Tigers marched down the field for 75 yards to take a 7-0 lead with 5:19 left in the first quarter.

The game would move to 14-0 before the first quarter was over when Kevin Davidson found Andre Iosivas in the end zone for a 33-yard touchdown. From there it was all Princeton as the Tigers scored 28 points in the second quarter alone to jump out to a 42-0 lead at the half.

The Bulldogs were without starting quarterback Sam Brown, so they ran with a two-quarterback system of Cameron Towns and Nick Orlando. Orlando provided a bright spot for the Bulldogs as he had a total of 111 yards for Butler. Orlando had 11 carries for 70 yards and a touchdown to provide Butler with some much-needed offense. On the defensive side of the ball, Luke Sennett had another stellar game with 14 tackles.

Butler would find their footing in the second half as they were able to score the only points of the fourth quarter and tie the Tigers in the second half 7-7. Butler was able to go on a 14-play, 75-yard drive which took 6 minutes and 47 seconds off of the clock.

Key Moment
Princeton took a 21-0 lead early in the second quarter with a 5-play, 66-yard drive to put the game virtually out of reach for the Bulldogs.
