There are only two remaining BIG EAST teams with perfect conference records, and they meet Wednesday night at Hinkle Fieldhouse.
Butler, ranked No. 5 in both of this week's national polls and No. 2 in the NCAA NET rankings, is 15-1. Seton Hall, ranked No. 18 in both national polls, is 4-0 in BIG EAST play. Both teams carry six-game winning streaks into the contest.

LAST TIME OUT: Butler utilized its trademark suffocating defense to post a 70-58 road win at Providence Friday night. The Bulldogs forced misses on the Friars' first 13 attempts from the field and held Providence to 32-percent shooting. Butler never trailed in the game.

Jordan Tucker led the Bulldogs with 17 points apiece. Butler had a 44-26 rebounding advantage. The Bulldogs only missed 20 shots (shooting 56 percent - 25-45), and grabbed offensive rebounds on 10 of those misses.
NEW YEAR. SAME OLD HINKLE: Butler posted a 71-57 win over Creighton Jan. 4 at Hinkle Fieldhouse to improve to 9-0 at home on the season.

Creighton, which entered the game shooting 38 percent from behind the three-point line while making 9.5 triples per game, was limited to 4-of-22 shooting from long range by the Bulldogs' defense.
NEW YEAR'S EVE: The ball dropped...and dropping the ball.: Once up by 23 points only to find themselves down five with three minutes to play, Butler escaped St. John's and New York City on New Year's Eve with a 60-58 win in its BIG EAST opener. Butler had lost its last three games at Carnesecca Arena.
Christian David's three-pointer from the corner off an offensive rebound with 43 seconds to play proved to be the game-winner for Butler. It was his only basket of the game.
Butler, which led 42-19 with 18:08 remaining, was forced into 24 turnovers as St. John's used a 29-4 run to take its first lead at 48-46 with 6:49 to play. Butler won the game in the final three minutes by scoring the final seven points.
ON THE DEFENSIVE:
• Only four Butler opponents have scored 60 or more points; Butler has also limited four opponents to 50 or fewer points.
• Only four of Butler's opponents have registered more assists than turnovers (Stanford, Ole Miss, Florida, at St. John's).
• Only two of Butler's opponents have shot better than 44 percent from the field (Missouri, Stanford).
