The Butler men's tennis team went 2-1 on the weekend, splitting heir final day of play, against Indianapolis and Indiana Tech. 

The Bulldogs (8-3) started the day with a 1-6 loss to Indianapolis. The Greyhounds took the No. 1 and No. 3 flight doubles to earn the first point of the match. Drew Michael/Ryan Roegner led 5-4 in the No. 2 doubles, but the match went unfinished.

In singles, Indianapolis picked up three straight wins in the No. 3, No. 4 and No. 1 flights to take the team win. Olof Wiklund picked up the only win for the Bulldogs, taking the No. 5 flight in three sets (6-3, 3-6, 10-5).

Three of the singles matches went to deciding sets, including Thomas Brennan at No. 1, Alvaro Huete Vadillo at No. 2 and Wiklund's win at No. 5.

The Bulldogs went on to take down Indiana Tech 4-1 in the second match-up of the day. Indiana Tech won the doubles point after taking the No. 3 and No. 2 flights, but the rest of the match was all Butler.

The Bulldogs swept the top four flights in singles, dominating in all straight sets. Huete got his first start in the No. 1 singles, winning 6-0, 6-3.  Michael followed up with a No. 2 flight victory, as did Tensing in the No. 3 spot.

Wilklund earned his second singles win of the day in the No. 4 flight, sealing the match for the Bulldogs. Roegner (No. 5) and Michael Karr (No. 6) did not start singles play.

Butler returns home Saturday (Feb. 15) to host their first BIG EAST match of the 2020 season against Georgetown. First serve is set for 10 a.m. at the Butler Bubble.
