Myles Tate Earns Two South Carolina Player of the Year Awards

Incoming Bulldog Myles Tate has picked up a pair of prestigious awards over the past few weeks.

Tate, the point guard at Dorman High School, was named the MaxPreps Player of the Year for South Carolina. The honor puts Tate among the elite group of 51 players in the nation honored with the award.

Recently, Tate was also named Region II-5A Player of the Year, and shared South Carolina Basketball Association 5A Player of the Year honors with teammate P.J. Hall.

Tate averaged 14.9 points, 5.5 assists and 3.4 rebounds per game for the Cavaliers during his senior campaign, and became the program's all-time leading scorer with 1,874 career points.

He helped lead Dorman to their fourth straight 5A championship, the Beach Ball Classic and Chick-Fil-A Classic tournament titles, a No. 2 national ranking, and a 30-1 record.

As a junior, his Cavaliers didn't lose to an in-state program, as Tate led the way with 17.1 points, 5.3 assists, 4.1 rebounds, and 2.3 steals per game.
