The Bulldogs head out on their annual Spring Break trip, which will have Butler playing 12 games over the next 10 days.
Butler will start with five games in Memphis, Tenn., at an event hosted by the University of Memphis. The first game is a Friday morning first pitch against Western Carolina. The Bulldogs will also play Indiana State, host Memphis, Belmont and Youngstown State over the weekend.
From Memphis, the Bulldogs will head to Madeira Beach, Fla., returning to a location that has been good to the team so far in 2020. Butler went 4-2 at the venue in games played there Feb. 14-16. Butler will play seven games in Madeira Beach, beginning Wednesday.
Butler's strong start has resulted in a 12-4 mark so far during the 2020 campaign.
The pitching staff has posted a 1.91 team ERA so far this season. The duo of
Alyssa Graves and
Karli Ricketts has combined for 116 strikeouts in 83.2 innings of work.
Mackenzie Griman and
Madison Seigworth also have ERAs under 2.00. The staff's 1.91 ERA is 21
st nationally.
Ricketts leads the team, and is among the top spots in the BIG EAST, with six home runs. Sophomore
Lauren Fey and her .423 batting average pace the team.
The Bulldogs have been stellar with their glovework as the team's .982 fielding percentage is seventh nationally.
Following the Spring Break trip, the Bulldogs will open the home portion of their schedule Tuesday, March 17 when Green Bay visits Indianapolis. BIG EAST play begins March 20-22 when the Bulldogs travel to DePaul.
