SCOUTING MOREHEAD STATE: The Eagles have a high-powered offense that averages 38 points per game, ranking them second among all PFL teams. QB Mark Pappas has tossed 14 touchdowns over the first five games of the season with six of those going to senior WR BJ Byrd. The Bulldogs will need to pay close attention to Byrd, a preseason All-PFL pick that has 40 catches for 530 yards this season. Byrd caught nine passes in each of the first two games this year while topping 100 receiving yards. His best individual performance came against Dayton on Oct. 2. He caught 14 passes for 191 yards and three touchdowns against the Flyers. Morehead State went on to win that game in overtime 45-38 and added a 38-30 win at Presbyterian last week, moving their overall record to 3-2. Each setback this season has come against nationally ranked opponents (No. 2 James Madison and No. 19 Austin Peay).

Senior running back Issiah Ageuro rushed for a season-high 113 yards and scored two touchdowns last Saturday to help MSU defeat Presbyterian. The defense also played a part with five sacks.

LAST GAME VS. MOREHEAD STATE: The Eagles hosted Butler in the final game of the 2021 spring season. The home team opened up a 14-0 lead and would move on to claim a 28-18 victory. The 'Dawgs scored 10 points in the second quarter to cut into the deficit, but would be outscored 14-8 in the third. Pappas hit Byrd for a TD pass in the first and third quarter. Byrd also had an 85-yard kick-off return for a touchdown.
