Butler fell 5-2 in the first of two home matches at the Butler Bubble this weekend. Southern Methodist won the doubles point and three straight singles flights to take the match.

Doubles Matches
In their first doubles outing together this season, Thomas Brennan/Michael Dickson fell 4-6 to the Mustang's No. 1 team of Liam Krall/Julian Steinhausen                   

Alvaro Huete Vadillo/Borja Miralles dropped the second double flight the SMU's Callaway Clark/Jordi Redelijk          .

Drew Michael/Zach Trimpe were keeping a tight game in the No. 3 spot when the second flight was finalized. Jan-Simon Vrbsky/Kyle Sillman led 6-5 when SMU secured the doubles point.

Singles vs. the 'Stangs
Michael Karr picked up the Bulldog's first win of the match, winning in straight sets, 6-2, 6-4, in the No. 6 flight. Karr is now 3-0 in singles to start the season. Huete picked up Butler's only other win in the No. 5 flight.

On the top court, Brennan went the distance with Krall, but couldn't close out the third set (6-1, 2-6, 4-6).

Filip Tensing fell in the No. 4 spot in straight sets (3-6, 1-6) to put SMU up 2-0. After falling 1-6 in the first set, Michael held a tight second set, but fell 5-7, and the Mustangs went up 3-0.

Dickson, who made his season debut in the match, was on his way to the third set in the No. 2 flight. When SMU won at the No. 1 and claimed the 4-0 win, Dickson retired in the third set down 0-1
