The Bulldogs finished off their weekend of play in Alabama with a 3-1 win over Murray State Sunday morning. With the result, Butler is now 4-6 on the season.

Karli Ricketts and Alyssa Graves combined to cool the Racers bats all morning. Rickets got the start and allowed a single run through 3.1 innings of work. Graves came on in relief for the final 3.2 innings, surrendering only three hits without allowing a run.

After being held without a run over the first five innings and facing a 1-0 deficit, the Bulldogs pushed across a tying run in the sixth inning. That came on a Maddie Moore single up the middle that scored Zoe Herdman.

With the game tied at 1-1, entering the seventh, Christina Candotti's double down the right field line plated Mallory McMahon for the go-ahead run. McMahon doubled to left with one out. Herdman provided an insurance run with a sacrifice fly that scored freshman Monique Hoosen.

Sunday served as McMahon's first career start, while Herdman was in the starting line-up for the second time in her career.

Butler capitalized on only three hits, which all came over the last two innings.

Ricketts and Fey earned selections to the Jaguar Classic All-Tournament Team for their efforts over the weekend. Fey is now batting .538 on the season.

The Bulldogs return to action the first weekend of March, traveling to Chattanooga for a weekend series.
