Butler used a dominating day in the circle to come away with two wins Saturday in Chattanooga, Tenn. Both Karli Ricketts and Alyssa Graves posted complete-game shutouts in a 3-0 win over Green Bay and a 1-0 triumph over Chattanooga, respectively.

With the two results, the Bulldogs level their 2021 record at 6-6.

Ricketts dominated in the opener, tossing a shutout while allowing only two hits to the Phoenix. She needed only 78 pitches, of which 62 were strikes. She struck out six without walking a batter.

The Bulldogs pushed across single runs in the first, fifth and seventh innings. The run in the seventh was a solo home run for freshman Monique Hoosen. It marked her second career home run. As a team, the Bulldogs had six hits.

Graves matched Ricketts' effort with her performance in the second game of the day. The left-hander struck out 10 while allowing only three hits and a walk. Graves was able to out-duel Chattanooga's Kat Thompson, who allowed only the unearned run and four Bulldog hits.

Butler's lone run came in the sixth inning as Bri Avery reached on an error to lead off the inning. Ricketts followed with a double to center field to score her. That single run was enough for Graves on the afternoon.

The Bulldogs are back at it Sunday, playing both Green Bay and Chattanooga once again. The match-up with Green Bay begins at 10 a.m., while the Chattanooga contest is slated for 3 p.m. Live stats will be available for both games and the game against Chattanooga will be streamed live on ESPN+.
