The Butler men's tennis team took their first BIG EAST loss to DePaul Friday evening, 4-3.
DePaul's second doubles team Fran Tonejc and Tripp Tuff defeated Michael Karr and Ryan Roegner first. Next, Borja Miralles and Alvaro Huete Vadillo could not find victory either, losing 6-3. The loss ended up being the difference-maker in the first round of BIG EAST play for Butler.
The Blue Demons and the Bulldogs split singles competition 3 and 3. Thomas Brennan, Drew Michael, and Alvaro Huete Vadillo won their respective matches.
Butler is now 4-6 on the season.
The Bulldogs play again tomorrow, April 3, in Kalamazoo against Western Michigan. This will be a rescheduled match from Feb. 26/27, taking place at 3:30 p.m.
