The Butler men's tennis team advanced to the BIG EAST Semifinals with a solid 4-1 win over Creighton in Friday's Quarterfinal in Cayce, S.C.

No. 1 DePaul will face No. 4 Butler, while the second men's semifinal has No. 2 St. John's against No. 3 Marquette.

Creighton's only point came from the doubles flights, winning the No. 1 and No. 3 pairs. Butler went on to take four straight singles flights in straight sets.

Thomas Brennan got the first singles point with a resounding win at the No. 1 spot, going 6-3, 6-0. Michael Dickson followed up with two 6-4 sets to take the No. 2 flight.

Borja Miralles got his first BIG EAST Tournament win at the No. 5 with a 6-4, 6-3 victory. Alvaro Huete Vadillo clinched the match and punched the Bulldogs ticket to the semifinals with a 6-4, 6-3 win in the No. 4 spot

Semifinal action at Cayce has been delayed by at least one hour for Saturday's matches. The women's matches will start at 10 a.m. ET instead of 9 a.m. and the men's competition will begin at 2 p.m. ET instead of 1 p.m. The BIG EAST Tennis Committee will meet in the morning to evaluate if further delays are necessary.
