The Butler men's tennis season came to an end in the BIG EAST Semifinals with a 5-0 loss to No. 1 seed DePaul. Butler finished the season at 8-8 with a 2-1 mark in conference during the regular season.

The Blue Demons earned the first point with a 7-5 win at No. 2 doubles and a 6-3 win at the No. 3. Thomas Brennan and Michael Dickson were down 4-5 at the No. 1 spot when the first match point was won.

DePaul went up 3-0 after two straight set wins in the No. 5 and No. 6 flights in singles.

The final four singles matches went to deciding third sets. DePaul went the distance in the No. 1 and No. 3 flights to take the match 5-0. Butler's No. 2 Michael Dickson was tied 6-6 in the third set and No. 3 Alvaro Huete Vadillo was up 4-2 when the Blue Demons clinched the match.

Butler won their last three regular season games before the conference tournament, including a sweep over Xavier and a 4-3 win against Marquette. The No. 4 seeded Bulldogs advanced to the semifinals with a win over No. 5 Creighton in the tournament quarterfinals.
