@ButlerUFootball Defeats DePauw on Homecoming 49-24

INDIANAPOLIS – Butler scored 14 points in each of the first three quarters to collect a 49-24 victory over DePauw on Saturday night to even their overall record at 1-1. Nick Orlando rushed for three touchdowns and Devin Aguilar intercepted two passes to help the Bulldogs come out on top.

How it Happened
Butler took the opening drive in for a touchdown to grab ahold of a lead they would never let go of. The Bulldogs used six plays to travel 75 yards to find the end zone. Nick Orlando would take a snap and cross the goal line for the first points of the night on a 1-yard rush. Later in the first, Bret Bushka would find Yogi Flager for six, from six yards out.

Butler's third series would end early on a turnover and the Tigers would capitalize on good field position to make the game 14-7. RB Drew Moore scored on a 4-yard TD rush, but the game would not get any closer.

Orlando added his second rushing TD of the game moments later on a 2-yard rush to make the game 21-7 and the two teams would head to halftime with Butler leading by 21 after a second Yogi Flager touchdown reception. Flager capped off an eight-play 64-yard drive from a nice ball from Bushka.

Defense was the story at the start of the third quarter with Devin Aguilar getting the ball back for the Bulldogs with his first pick of the season. BU kept the ball on the ground and would ride Kavon Samuels all the way to the goal line for a 2-yard TD. Butler scored once more in the third off an 11-yard rush by AJ Deinhart. The final points of the game for Butler belonged to Orlando on a 1-yard run in the fourth.
