@ButlerMSoccer Hands First Loss to No. 18 Lipscomb

INDIANAPOLIS - The Butler men's soccer team earned its second consecutive win and, at the same time, gave No. 18 Lipscomb its first loss of the season. The Bulldogs (3-3-1) scored two first half goals, but the Bisons (5-1-2) pulled back to within one, 2-1, before the break. In the second half, the Bulldogs tacked on one more, producing a final score of 3-1.

Key Moments

·   10' | Wilmer Cabrera, Jr. had a great look, but a Lipscomb team save kept the score at nil.

·   14' | Jack Streberger took a pass from Jack Haywood and slid it past the Lipscomb keeper into the right side of the net, putting Butler in front, 1-0.

·   23' | Streberger took the ball away on the left side end line and hit a diagonal ball to Wilmer Cabrera, Jr. near the top of the box. Cabrera, Jr. struck the ball with one touch to the left side of the keeper, giving the Bulldogs a 2-0 lead.

·   30' | Lipscomb's Hayes Wood took advantage of a defensive miscue and went one-on-one with Butler keeper Gabriel Gjergji, sliding the ball underneath to pull within one, 2-1.

·   HALF

·   60' | Quint Breitkreuz blasted a shot with his left foot, and the Lipscomb keeper made a diving save to the upper corner, punching the ball out and giving the Bulldogs a corner kick.

·   76' | A Bisons header off a corner kick forced Gjergji to make a diving save to the bottom right of the goal.

·   79' | Haywood carried the ball up the center toward the box and sent a ball outside to Streberger. Streberger sent it back in to Joel Harvey who scored his first goal of the season, padding the lead at 3-1.

·   Jack Streberger's goal was his first of the season and the second of his career. His two assists added to his season and career totals of three.
