No. 14 Villanova shot 60 percent from the field in taking an 82-42 win over Butler Sunday afternoon at Wells Fargo Arena in Philadelphia.
 
Villanova improves to 13-4 overall and a BIG EAST-best 6-1 in conference games. Butler falls to 9-7 (2-3).
 
The Wildcats made nine of their first 11 three-point attempts and finished 12-for-19 from behind the arc on the afternoon.
 
Collin Gillespie led four Villanova players in double figures with 17 points. He hit five of the team's three-pointers.
 
Villanova scored the first 12 points of the second half (and ultimately put together a 21-3 run) to put the game out of reach.
 
Villanova scored 15 of the game's first 17 points. The Wildcats shot 71 percent, including 5-of-7 from three-point range, in the first half in taking a 39-23 halftime lead. A spurt by Butler had cut the lead to 31-20 with 4:37 remaining in the first half.
 
Chuck Harris led the Bulldogs with 15 points; Bryce Nze added 10 points. Butler shot 31 percent from the field.
