OMAHA, Neb. - The Butler men's soccer team lost a back-and-forth battle between the BIG EAST's top offensive teams, falling 4-2 at Creighton. The Bulldogs (8-5-1, 3-3-1 BIG EAST) jumped ahead in the tenth minute, but by halftime the Bluejays (5-3-5, 2-2-3 BIG EAST) had leveled the score, 1-1. Thirteen minutes into the second half, Creighton pulled ahead, but Butler answered this time, leveling the match at two with 25 minutes remaining. The two sides battled through the next several minutes, but with only eleven on the clock, the Bluejays produced what would be the game winner. Then, just before the final whistle, Creighton tallied one more for the final margin.
 
With two consecutive road losses, Butler is now tied with Providence for the fourth spot in the tightly contested BIG EAST rankings. The two teams are three points behind second-place Xavier and Seton Hall, and one point in front of St. John's and Creighton. Each team has either two or three matches remaining.
