Release from USC
KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Butler Athletics and the men's soccer program are proud to announce that
Perrin Barnes has been honored in a Thursday, December 15, release by the United Soccer Coaches for his performances in the classroom and on the soccer field this past season. Barnes, a Sports Media major with a 3.90 GPA, was designated a member of the Scholar All-America Third Team, as well as the Scholar All-North/Central Region Team. This fall, he helped lead the Bulldogs to a 10-6-3 season that advanced to the BIG EAST Tournament semifinals.
Barnes, from Aurora, Ill., started all 19 matches for Butler this season in the defensive line. He scored the game-winning goal against Oakland and dished out an assist in a draw with Xavier. The senior was selected to the BIG EAST Championship All-Tournament Team and was also named Academic All-District by College Sports Communicators.
Student-athletes on this year's Scholar All-America Teams will be formally acknowledged for their accomplishments on the field and in the classroom at the United Soccer Coaches All-America Ceremony & Reception on Saturday, Jan. 14, 2023, at the Pennsylvania Convention Center in Philadelphia in conjunction with the United Soccer Coaches Convention.
