Louisville - The Butler women's lacrosse team (1-2) fell on the road at Louisville (4-2) on Tuesday, 22-8.

How it Happened:

The Cardinals jumped out to an early 4-0 lead before
Kaley Attaway put one in for the Bulldogs on the assist from
Greer Bireley. At the end of the first, Butler trailed 8-1. Hannah Morris had three for the Cardinals in the first.

To start the second quarter, Attaway put two past the Cardinals goalie in the first two minutes of the quarter. After scoring two quick goals, Louisville found a rhythm and scored three unanswered goals in two minutes. The Bulldogs added three more in the second from
Lindsey Schreiber,
Greer Bireley, and
Leah Rubino. Heading into the half, the Bulldogs trailed 14-6.

After the half, the Cardinals put two in during the first five minutes of the third quarter. The third was a defensive battle on both ends of the field. After a fast start, only two goals were scored in the last ten minutes of the quarter.
Julia Putzi tallied her first collegiate goal and the Dawg's lone goal of the quarter.

The fourth quarter began in a similar fashion to the third. The Cardinals scored two early goals to extend their lead.
Kayla Kielbasa added a goal for the Bulldogs in the final quarter.

Hannah Morris, Nicole Perroni, and Allegra Catalano were stellar for the Cardinals. The trio combined for ten of the teams 22 goals on the day.

Aleigh Monroe,
Katie McGrath, and
Caroline Smith combined for nine saves for the Bulldogs.
