INDIANAPOLIS – The Butler softball team was shut out, 6-0, by Dayton in a Wednesday non-conference matchup. The Flyers (9-16) scored in four different innings and held the Bulldogs (18-10) to only three hits on the day.
How It Happened
- Dayton scored one in the first inning and one in the third to jump to an early, 2-0 lead.
- The Flyers added three in the fourth, forcing a Butler pitching change.
- A one-run fifth inning completed the scoring and gave Dayton the shutout victory.
Butler Pitching
Madison Seigworth (0-1) got the start for Butler and took the loss. In 3.1 innings, she allowed seven hits, four runs (3 earned), and two walks while striking out two.
Mackenzie Griman (2.2 IP, 2 H, R, ER, 2 BB, K) provided relief from the bullpen.
