Clinton, S.C. - The Butler women's lacrosse team (3-2) picked up a win on the road at Presbyterian (1-4) Wednesday, 20-4.
How it Happened:
The Bulldogs came out of the gates firing, and
Campbell Connors picked up where she left off last game. A minute and twelve seconds into the game, Connors converted on an unassisted effort to get the Dawgs on the board first.
Holly Hall scored on an assist from
Lindsey Schreiber with two minutes left in the quarter. Captain Ellie Eisenkalm scored her first goal of the season with forty seconds remaining to give the Bulldogs a 3-0 lead at the end of the first quarter.
The second quarter started in a similar fashion to the first, with the Bulldogs finding the back of the net first.
Lindsey Schreiber scored five minutes into the second on an unassisted effort. Just over a minute later,
Kayla Kielbasa put another one in for the Bulldogs. Presbyterian's Willow Hammond put one on the board for the Blue Hose thirty seconds later to make the score 5-1.
After Hammond's goal, the Butler offense scored six goals in the final six minutes of the quarter while Presbyterian scored one.
Campbell Connors notched one, Gabrielle Bodine scored two,
Ellie Eisenklam scored her second of the game,
Leah Rubino and
KK Callaghan each tallied one as well.
Kayla Kielbasa assisted on Connor's goal and one of Bodine's.
Greer Bireley, who leads the Bulldogs in assists, added one more on Rubino's goal.
The Bulldogs dominated the third quarter, netting four unanswered in the third to take a 15-2 lead heading into the final quarter. Kielbasa netted her second of the game on a feed from
Kaley Attaway.
Layla Tattersfield scored with the assist coming from Bodine.
Julia Putzi scored, and Kielbasa added another assist for the Bulldogs before Captain
KK Callaghan rounded out the quarter, putting one in with eight seconds left.
The Bulldogs continued to dominate the rest of the way, netting five more goals in the fourth.
Peyton Moroney scored her first career goal and minutes later followed it up with another, both being unassisted efforts.
Madison Farron scored on a feed from Bodine, which was also Farron's first career goal.
Ella Squibb netted one and assisted the final goal for the Bulldogs that
Morgan Cox scored.
Aleigh Monroe made seven saves for the Bulldogs in 45 minutes of action. Monroe registered a .788 save percentage in today's game.
