Final Results

The Bulldogs finished seventh at the Nittany Lion Invitational as the 54-hole event concluded Sunday afternoon. Penn State hosted the event.

THE SCORECARDS: Freshman Kelli Scheck tied for 17th at 221 (+5) after her Sunday 74. Her final round included four birdies on the par-72, 6,402-yard Penn State Blue Course. Scheck shot rounds of 74 and 73 Saturday.
 
  • Reese Wilson, the reigning BIG EAST Golfer of the Week, shot a 75 for the third consecutive round to finish at 225 (+9) and in a tie for 30th.
  • Katie Steinman's one-over 73 Sunday was her best round of the event and the Bulldogs' best score of the day. Her Sunday included an eagle on the par-5, 511-yard ninth hole, which was her first hole of the day. She had nine consecutive pars on the back nine. Steinman finished in a tie for 32nd at 226 (+10).
  • Alaina Bowie, in her first action of the season, tied for 36th. Her 54-hole total of 227 (+11) included an even-par 72 Saturday afternoon.
  • Lily Celentano (239; +23) tied for 81st.

AS A TEAM: The Bulldogs finished in seventh place among the 16-team field. That is where the team entered Sunday's final round. Butler shot 301 (+13) Sunday, which matched the team's score from Saturday's morning round. The Bulldogs shot 297 in the second round Saturday. Butler's 899 (+35) was two shots behind sixth-place Toledo and five shots clear of eighth-place Eastern Kentucky.

OF NOTE:
  • Host Penn State won the team event with a three-under total of 861; the Nittany Lions had three of the top five finishers. Penn State finished 16 shots ahead of Kennesaw State (877).
  • Toledo's Amelia Lee won individual medalist honors at 209 (-7). She finished four shots ahead of Richmond's Hannah Lydic. Lydic's four-under 68 was the best round of the day Sunday.
  • Scheck's sister, Katie, is a sophomore at Penn State. Katie, playing as an individual, finished in a tie for 11th at 220 (+4).
  • There are 93 players in the field.

UP NEXT: The Bulldogs host their only home competition of the season with the Butler Fall Invitational Oct. 3-4. Butler's home course – Highland Golf Club – will serve as the host venue.
