@ButlerMSoccer Runs Away from Lindenwood

INDIANAPOLIS - The Butler men's soccer team dominated possession in a 9-0 shutout of Lindenwood. In the Wednesday evening non-conference contest, the Bulldogs (4-2-1) scored five goals in the first half and added four more in the second. The Lions (1-4-1) managed five shots, but only one forced a Butler save.

Key Moments
  • 11' | DJ Hooks steals the ball from the Lions and streaks down the right side. He finds Palmer Ault running toward the near post, and Ault is able to slide it in for what would ultimately be the game-winning goal.
  • 22' | Rico Hollenkamp takes a close-range shot that is saved but then caroms off the Lindenwood keeper. Hollenkamp touches the deflection toward Ault, and Ault puts it just over the line for his second goal of the match.
  • 27' | Palmer Ault collects a pass just past midfield and immediately sends it to the front line where DJ Hooks has cut in front of his defender. Hooks touches the ball forward and then chases it down to slide a volley past the Lions keeper for the third goal of the evening.
  • 29' | Palmer Ault carries into the penalty area and chips a ball to Rico Hollenkamp. Hollenkamp and his defender collide, but a positive touch sends the ball into the back of the net for a 4-0 lead.
  • 38' | Nick Graziano draws a foul from the goal keeper and then connects on the penalty kick for the fifth goal of the half.
    ---HALFTIME---
  • 59' | Graziano carries down the right side and sends a ball into the box to Wilmer Cabrera, Jr. who one times it past the goal keeper and to a wide-open Nick Okoro. Okoro is undefended and able to tap the ball in for the sixth goal of the night.
  • 70' | Graziano takes a short pass on the left side just past midfield and turns to make a pass. He finds Okoro about thirty yards from the goal, and Okoro's twenty-yard shot from the left side goes right under the keeper for a seven-goal lead.
  • 76' & 82' | Within a six-minute span, Kyle Hagerman twice carried the ball, eluded defenders, and found the back of the net, scoring Butler's final two goals of the night.
