@ButlerMSoccer Gets BIG EAST Road Win at UConn

STORRS, Conn. - The Butler men's soccer team picked up a 4-1 BIG EAST win on the road at UConn Saturday night. The Bulldogs (5-2-1, 1-0-1 BIG EAST) scored three goals in the first half, and, after the Huskies (2-4-1, 0-1-1 BIG EAST) scored early in the second, tacked on a fourth just a couple minutes later for the final three-goal margin.
 
Key Moments
  • 22' | Tommy Visser carries down the left side and hits a hard cross in front of the goal. A charging Palmer Ault heads the ball directly in, giving Butler an early, 1-0, lead.
  • 26' | Jack Streberger crosses a ball from the left side to DJ Hooks on the right. Hooks shoots, and the ball saved by the UConn keeper rebounds back to Hooks. This time, Hooks puts the ball past everyone and gives the Dawgs a two-goal advantage.
  • 44' | Rico Hollenkamp sends a ball from the right side toward the penalty mark in front of the goal. Ault heads in his second goal of the match and puts Butler up at the half, 3-0.

  • 48' | UConn uses a give-and-go to get on the board and draw to within two.
  • 50' | Ault carries into the box and is brought down by two defenders eight yards out. The ball trickles out in front of the goal, and Wilmer Cabrera, Jr. buries it for a 4-1 advantage.
  • 55' | A UConn header deflects off the right post but is cleared.
  • 58' | Ault draws a foul from the Huskies keeper, but the penalty kick from Cabrera, Jr. is saved.
