The Bulldogs dropped a three-match decision to Portland in the team's final outing of the Denver Invitational in Colorado.
Portland won the match by a score of 25-20, 25-20, 25-13.
With the result, Butler is now 4-2 on the season, while Portland improves to 5-1.

Portland closed the set strong with an 8-4 run that turned a tight 17-16 lead into a 25-20 victory. Charity Bradley had five kills for Portland in the set.
Mariah Grunze matched that total for Butler.
SET 2: Portland 25-20
The second set was tied 14-14 before Portland rattled off five straight points to take control. Portland hit .286 in the frame. Grunze had six kills for the Bulldogs.
SET 3: Portland 25-13
Portland got out to an 8-3 lead and held an advantage until the final point. Butler was limited to -.030 hitting in the set.
