INDIANAPOLIS – The Butler women's soccer team fell behind and was unable to generate enough offense to overtake Dayton, falling 2-1. The Flyers (5-1-1) scored one goal in the first half and added another with 35 minutes remaining in the match. The Bulldogs (3-3) scored one with 21 minutes on the clock but could not find the back of the net for an equalizer.

• 55' | Gemelli gathers a deflected pass and immediately turns, slicing a shot between two Butler defenders and just out of reach of Pierce. The ball finds the back left corner of the net, and Dayton has a two-goal lead.
• 69' | Talia Sommer took a pass from Alana Wood outside of the box on the left side. Sommer alluded two defenders and sent a low shot past a third Flyer. The ball hit just inside the near post and ricocheted to the back right corner, bringing the Dawgs to within one, 1-2.
• 88' | A Butler cross found Katie Soderstrom in front of the goal with a great opportunity, but the potential game-tying shot sailed just over the bar.
