PROVIDENCE – Butler moved to 9-9 on the year with a 3-0 win at Providence on Friday afternoon (25-21, 25-20, 25-23). The victory signaled the third win of the BIG EAST season for BU and evened the team's record on the road at 3-3.
Mariah Grunze led the BU attack with a team-high 13 kills. Grunze added two aces and six digs in the match to end the night with 16.5 points.
Laiya Ebo and
Grace Boggess were also active at the net for BU going for 10 and nine kills respectively. Ebo hit .412 and Boggess was close behind at .389.
Cora Taylor set up the action with 38 assists and
Jaymeson Kinley paced the defense with 14 digs.
Elise Ward was also excellent with 13 digs and seven kills. She led all Bulldogs with four aces.
Butler returns to the court tomorrow night with a match at UConn.
