The 2023 Academic All-District® Men's Soccer Teams recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. Academic All-District® honorees advance to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot. First-, second- and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced in mid-December.

Kumwenda, a junior from Leeds, England, appeared in 12 matches for the Bulldogs, starting 10. He scored two goals, one vs. IUPUI, and a second in a 2-2 draw with Creighton. The forward dished out two assists, and his six offensive points tied for third on the team. Kumwenda is a Marketing and Applied Business Technology major.

Verkooijen, a sophomore from Dongen, Noord Brabant, Netherlands, appeared in all 15 of Butler's matches this season, starting 14. Primarily a defender, he registered four shots on the season. Verkooijen's major area of study is International Business.
