The Bulldogs matched up with in-state opponents Ball State on Friday afternoon. The Cardinals defeated Butler, 5-2.
Doubles play saw Ball State win at the No. 1 and No. 2 spots to earn the point. Butler duo,
Rahulniket Konakanchi and
Patrick Joss defeated their opponents at the No. 3, 6-4.
Borja Miralles and
Thomas Brennan highlighted play for Butler in the singles matches. Miralles won at No. 3 in a convincing two sets. Brennan took the No. 1 in a close three-set match.
Nicolas Arts forced his opponent to a third set but wasn't able to close out the point.
Butler is in action again tomorrow when they host Eastern Kentucky and Marian at the Butler Bubble in a doubleheader.
