Butler picked up its third consecutive win with a convincing 7-0 triumph over Saint Louis Sunday morning. The road win moves the Bulldogs to 8-5 on the season.
Â
Butler started the action by taking two of three matches to claim the doubles point. The momentum carried over to singles competition as the Bulldogs took all six courts.
Â
Thomas Brennan captured a straight-set win at No. 1 singles, topping Andres Castellanos, 6-0, 6-3.
Patrick Joss and
Zach Trimpe each only needed two sets to take their wins at No. 4 and No. 6, respectively.
Â
The other three singles matches would go the distance.
Alvaro Huete Vadillo took a third-set match tiebreaker, 10-7, on the second court.
Borja Miralles and
Nicolas Arts took their three-set victories at No. 3 and No. 5.
Â
The Bulldogs will next compete on a Spring Break trip that begins with the Pacific Coast Men's Doubles Championship in La Jolla, Calif., before matching up with BIG EAST foes Villanova and Georgetown in San Diego.
