@ButlerUMTennis Advances to BIG EAST Tournament Final with 4-1 Win Over Top Seeded Creighton

The Butler men's tennis team upset the top seed, Creighton, 4-1 in the semifinal of the BIG EAST tournament on Saturday. The conference final tomorrow against St. John's will be Butler's first since winning in 2017.
 
The doubles point went in favor of Butler creating an early 1-0 lead. Thomas Brennan and Alvaro Huete Vadillo won their fourth consecutive match from the No. 1 while Borja Miralles and Nicolas Arts swept their opponents at the No. 2.
 
The Bulldogs clinched the victory with three singles points. Patrick Joss got Butler started with a commanding 6-2, 6-2 straight set win at the No. 5. 
 
Huete Vadillo put Butler at match point with a straight set win of his own from the No. 2 court. The first set ended 7-5 with the second being a more comfortable 6-1. 
 
Just minutes later, Brennan extended his win streak to eight from the No. 1 and clinched the semifinal win for the Bulldogs. The senior edged out a close first set before taking a controlling 6-2 second set.
