INDIANAPOLIS – The Butler women's soccer team won its second consecutive match for the first time this season, defeating Ball State by a final score of 4-0. The Bulldogs (4-4-1, 0-0-0 BIG EAST) scored twice in the first half and twice in the second, limiting the Cardinals (2-5-0, 0-0-0 MAC) to only three shots on goal.

• 5' | Talia Sommer carries to the middle of the field and sends a ball deep into the left corner in front of a sprinting Alana Wood. Wood beats her defender to the ball and strikes a cross to the near post. Norah Jacomen one-times the ball with her left foot from the six-yard line over the keeper and into the right side of the net. Dawgs take an early, 1-0, lead.
• 45' | Just before the half, Emily O'Malley sends a ball forward from the defensive end. Leila Lister leaps to put a head on the ball and continue its momentum forward. Alexei Whittaker beats her defender to the ball, and, as the Ball State keeper charges, she lifts it over her head from 20 yards out, and it bounces into the net. Butler has a 2-0 lead at the break.
  **HALFTIME**
• 61' | Sommer carries horizontally along the defensive line, about 20 yards out. She slots a ball between two defenders that finds Jacomen who then hits the ball towards the far post, finding the inside of the net. The Bulldogs are now up, 3-0.
• 62' | Aliya Diagne beats a defender around the left side and hits the ball, square, across the front of the goal. Ball State's keeper lunges but is unable to deflect it, and Whittaker knocks it in from four yards out.
