The Bulldogs are off to a 3-1 start to the season and will aim to stay undefeated in league play on Saturday afternoon. SCOUTING PRESBYTERIAN: The Blue Hose are coming off their bye week with a 2-1 overall record. They lost 41-10 at Murray State in their first game of the season, but put together back-to-back wins after opening weekend by notching victories over Virginia Lynchburg and Wofford. The win at Wofford was a wild one as the Blue Hose used 17 plays to travel 76 yards in order to score the game-winning touchdown with just 28 seconds remaining on the clock. Tyler Wesley connected with Worth Warner on an 18-yard TD pass to find the win column. Wesley is a dual threat that throws for 220 yards per game and rushes for 45. Warner is his favorite target with a team-high 10 catches for 187 yards.

Presbyterian placed WR Dominic Kibby on the Preseason All-PFL Team. Kibby has 10 catches this year for 185 yards and two touchdowns.

ALL-TIME SERIES: Saturday's contest will be the first meeting between Butler and Presbyterian. The Blue Hose will make their  way to Indianapolis from Clinton, S.C.Â

Presbyterian joined the Pioneer Football League in 2021. Head Coach Steve Englehart has Indiana ties. He is a Terre Haute native that graduated from Indiana State in 2000.

PFL HOME OPENERS: Butler won their PFL home opener in 2022 with an impressive 31-0 shutout victory over Dayton. They are 4-6 over the last decade in PFL home openers.

The Bulldogs posted their first shutout win since 2010, ended a seven-game losing streak against Dayton and halted the Flyers' NCAA record streak of scoring points in 501 consecutive games on Oct. 8, 2022.

MITCHELL NAMED PFL OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Jyran Mitchell put together the FCS's seventh-best rushing performance this season, running for 209 yards as Butler opened its PFL slate with a 28-18 victory at Stetson. He scored two touchdowns in the win, including a 43-yard touchdown run with 1:46 remaining that sealed the victory. Mitchell had another touchdown run of 58 yards in the third quarter. He finished Week 4 with 492 rushing yards this season – sixth among FCS rushers – and his six touchdown runs are tied for third in the subdivision.

Mitchell also received the honor on Sept. 10 after rushing for 178 yards and three touchdowns vs. Taylor in Week 2.

HOLMAN NAMED PFL DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Devaon Holman joined a group of 16 FCS defenders to pick off two passes in a game this season, helping Butler secure a 28-18 PFL victory at Stetson. His first pick came after the Butler scoring drive that built a 21-7 lead late in the third quarter. After Mitchell's second touchdown extended the Bulldogs' lead back to 10 points, Holman picked off a pass on the first play of the ensuing drive and returned it 64 yards to seal the win.

Holman's first collegiate interception came at #14 Montana. The BU freshman leads the PFL in interceptions (3) and ranks second in passes defended (7).

GROUND GAME: Butler set new season-high totals at Stetson rushing the ball 48 times to gain 322 yards. They averaged 6.7 yards per rush and had three different players find the end zone.

12 of Butler's 15 first downs at Stetson came on rushing attempts.

BIG PLAYS FOR BU: The Bulldogs have scored 10 touchdowns this year on plays covering 20+ yards. Three of Butler's four rushing touchdowns at Stetson were 20+ yard runs.

Jyran Mitchell has rushing TD's of 60, 63, 58 and 43 yards this season. He also caught a 32-yard pass from Bushka in Week 1.

HALFTIME ADJUSTMENTS: Butler has outscored their opponent 51-14 in the third quarter this year.

Montana is the only team to score on BU in the first quarter this season.

WELCOME BACK: The 2013 Butler football team will be recognized during the first half of Saturday's game. The Bulldogs were Co-PFL Champs that season and were the first team in school history to earn a berth in the NCAA DI Football Championship.

BUSHKA IN BULLDOG HISTORY: With 50 rushing yards at Stetson, Bushka topped 1,000 career rushing yards (1,043). He added 54 passing yards to move to sixth all-time at Butler (4,834). Bushka just passed Steve Clayton (70-73) and will now need 636 yards to catch Matt Lancaster (2012-13) on the all-time list.

Bushka is one of 35 FCS players to make the Preseason Watch List for the Walter Payton Award.

The Tommies are 2-0 all-time against Butler. They won the first meeting 36-0 in 2021 and came to Indy a year ago to claim a 27-13 victory.
