OMAHA, Neb. – The Butler men's soccer team led early but ultimately was defeated, 6-1, by Creighton. The Bulldogs (4-9-3, 1-6-0 BIG EAST) scored first, in the tenth minute, but the Bluejays (5-6-5, 2-3-2 BIG EAST) found an equalizer just a few minutes later and then added five more goals after the break.

- 10' | Nick Okoro plays a diagonal cross from the left side to Ryan Hannosh on the right. Hannosh creates space and sends the ball back across the face of the goal to Okoro, who is rushing forward at the far post. Okoro has beaten his defender and punches the ball inside the left post, giving Butler an early, 1-0, lead.
- 16' | Creighton plays a ball from the center line, all the way forward to Miguel Arilla, who has beaten his defender. Caleb Norris charges, but Arilla is able to tap it to the side and roll it into the goal. The score is level, 1-1.
- 40' | Hannosh creates and opportunity just outside the area, but his shot from 18 yards is saved by the Creighton keeper.
HALFTIME
- 55' | A Creighton cross in front of the goal is redirected into the goal by Amos Boum Nlend, putting the Bluejays up, 2-1.
- 56' | A Bluejays header from in front of the goal is saved by a diving Norris save. The rebound is again shot at the goal but hits the post and careens out of danger.
- 68' | Creighton's Mark O'Neill heads in a corner kick and the lead is now two goals.
- 70' | A Henri Kumwenda header off a corner forces a save from Creighton's keeper.
- 75' | The Bluejays steal a ball in Butler's end, connects a couple of passes, and takes a 4-1 lead.
- 77' | Creighton advances to the endline, and a slot pass back to another attacker leads to the fifth goal for the Bluejays.
- 78' | A Creighton shot from 12 yards slides under Norris. The Bluejays are up, 6-1.
