@ButlerSoftball Clinches Georgetown Series with Game-Two Win

WASHINGTON D.C. – The Butler softball team came from behind in game two of the three-game BIG EAST series at Georgetown, winning by the final score of 11-6. The Hoyas (10-25, 1-13 BIG EAST) held a 6-3 lead after four innings, but the Bulldogs (19-21, 8-9 BIG EAST) used a six-run fifth to take the lead for good.

Game 2: Butler 11, Georgetown 6 (7 innings)

In the top of the first inning, a walk along with singles from Hailey Conger and Makena Alexander give Butler an early 2-0 lead. Georgetown answered in the bottom half with a three-run home run and took a 3-2 lead after one complete.

Hoosen hit her second sacrifice fly of the day, in the top of the sixth inning, pushing the lead for the Dawgs to 10-6. One inning later, Paige Dorsett singled in the final run of the game.

Butler used four pitchers in the win. Kayla Noerr (3R, 2H) started in the circle but was replaced by Rylyn Dyer in the first inning.
