NORMAL, Ill. – The Butler women's soccer team ended a three-game road trip with a contest in central Illinois and came away with a 2-0 shutout victory over Illinois State. The Bulldogs (5-2-1) put in one goal before the break and another one after to secure the win over the Redbirds (2-5-1), out of the Missouri Valley Conference. This was the final non-conference match for Butler in the regular season.

- 5' | Norah Jacomen sends a ball straight across from the right side, to the front of the goal. Abigail Isger is there and heads it on toward the far post. Talia Sommer heads the ball on goal, but it is saved by the Illinois State keeper.
- 7' | Butler earns a corner kick. The service from Isger bends toward the goal and, after a deflection off an Illinois State defender, lands in the goal. The Bulldogs are up early, 1-0.
- 45' | A long Illinois State service from the left side finds Josie Spann, and the Redbird attacker sets up for a strike from 15 yards. A Butler defender gets a foot on the ball to alter the shot, to the left of the goal, resulting in a corner kick for the Redbirds.
HALFTIME
- 47' | Sommer strikes a corner kick into the area, at the near post. Amelie Darey gets a head on the ball, which deflects off a Redbird defender. Leila Lister then punches the ball in, giving Butler a two-goal advantage.
- 59' | Illinois State breaks the Bulldog defensive line with a through-ball. Goal keeper Anna Pierce comes off her line to challenge Sammi Cenek, one-on-one, but Cenek pushes the ball to her left side. Anna Schroeder recovers and is able to block Cenek's shot, out of bounds.
