A 15-0 second half run proved to be the difference as Georgetown came away with a 73-70 win over Butler Friday night at Capital One Arena in Washington, D.C.

Micah Peavy and Thomas Sorber each scored 19 points to lead the Hoyas.

With the win, Georgetown improves to 14-8 overall and 5-6 in BIG EAST play. Butler is now 9-13.

KEY STRETCH: Georgetown put together a 15-0 run early in the second half that turned a 44-40 Butler lead with 17:53 to play into a Hoyas 55-44 advantage with 13:22 remaining. Butler had eight empty possessions during that run.

OF NOTE:
- Finley Bizjack led Butler with 17 points and five assists.
- Andre Screen made eight of his 11 attempts from the field in posting 16 points.
- Pierre Brooks II (14) and Patrick McCaffery (11) also found double figures.
- Butler had 13 turnovers, compared to just six for the Hoyas. Georgetown turned those Butler turnovers into 17 points.
- Each team had 33 rebounds, but Georgetown utilized their nine offensive rebounds to post 16 second-chance points.
- Of Georgetown's 73 points, 52 came in the paint.
- Georgetown shot 49 percent from the field, but went only 2-for-17 from three-point range.
- Butler made 48 percent of their shots, including a 7-for-20 mark from behind the arc.
- The Bulldogs held a 37-36 lead at the half. The first 20 minutes featured four ties and 13 lead changes and neither team led by more than six.
