Milwaukee, Wisconsin- The Marquette Golden Eagles defeated Butler in straight sets Saturday evening. Marquette improves to 12-6 on the season and 6-2 in confrence play, with the win. With the loss, Butler falls to 9-12 on the season and 2-6 in BIG EAST play. 

Set 1 Marquette (25-15)
Marquette opened the match with a 6-0 run and extended its lead to 17-7 midway through the first set. Marquette maintained its lead and closed out the set. Alaleh Tolliver tallied four kills in the set and finished with a team-high eight.
  Set 2 Marquette (25-15)
A service ace from Elise Ward gave the Bulldogs a 5-4 lead in the second set. From there, the Golden Eagles regained control and built a 22-14 advantage. Butler fought off four set points, but Marquette held on to take the set by five.

Set 3 Marquette (25-9)
Marquette jumped out to an 11-0 lead in the third set and held on to complete the sweep in three sets.

Butler will play its next four matches at Hinkle Fieldhouse. The Bulldogs host Seton Hall at 7 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 24, followed by a matchup with St. John's at 5 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 25. The following weekend, Butler will welcome Georgetown and Villanova to Hinkle.
