INDIANAPOLIS – The Butler women's soccer team never trailed in a 3-1 victory over Providence in a Homecoming match played at Varsity Field. The Bulldogs (4-1-5, 1-0-2 BIG EAST) scored first, but the Friars (3-3-2, 0-1-1 BIG EAST) answered to level the game in the 25
th minute. Butler then scored added two more, one just before the break, and one just after the break, for the final two-goal margin.

- 22' | Talia Sommer carries to the middle of the pitch from the left side. She hits a ball to the right side, finding Léa Larouche. Larouche touches and then sends a cross in front of the goal. Alyssa Carlson is there, and she knocks it in to give Butler a 1-0 lead.
- 25' | A Providence attacker is one-on-one with Butler keeper Addison Ash. The first shot is saved, but deflected down, and the attacker is able to punch in the rebound. The score is level at one.
- 43' | Chloe Brecht carries down the right side and angles toward the center. She plays a ball back out to the right, finding Larouche. Larouche serves into the face of the goal, finding Lucia Englund at the far post. Englund shoots and scores, putting Butler up again, 2-1.
HALFTIME
- 48' | Just after the break, Larouche plays a ball backward to Lucia England at the half line. England finds Sommer on the left side and connects with her. Sommer moves to the right and strikes, into the upper right corner of the goal, giving the Bulldogs a two-goal cushion.
