CHARLESTON, Ill. - Butler fell to Eastern Illinois 11-6 on Tuesday evening in Charleston, Ill. With the loss, Butler slides to 15-25 overall while Eastern Illinois improves to 22-14.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Back-to-back singles from Rhoades and Gilmore in the top of the first put two on with one out for Butler. After a fly-out to center, Sackett stepped up to the plate and brought home Rhoades with an RBI single, giving BU an early 1-0 advantage.
- EIU responded in the bottom of the second, scoring two runs on two hits and an error as the Panthers took the 2-1 advantage into the third.
- After a scoreless third, the Panthers plated another run in the fourth, extending their lead to two (3-1).
- In the top of the sixth, the Bulldogs loaded the bases with one out. Ayers earned a walk, bringing home a run for BU, before a throwing error on a fielder's choice plated another for Butler, evening the score at 3-3. A groundout from Schebler allowed another runner to come home, giving the Dawgs' the 4-3 advantage.Â
- The Panthers exploded for five runs in the seventh, behind three hits and three walks, as the home side held an 8-4 advantage heading into the final two frames.
- Butler plated two runs in the eighth on an RBI double from Schebler and an RBI single from Burgess. The Panthers responded in the bottom half of the inning with a three-run home run from James Love. EIU took the five-run lead into the final inning of action.Â
- BU was unable to mount a comeback in the ninth, dropping the contest 11-6.
