Butler will host Indiana at Hinkle Fieldhouse for the first time in more than three decades as the teams will meet in an exhibition game Sunday, Oct. 11.

The contest begins a home-and-home exhibition series that will see the Bulldogs travel to Bloomington prior to the 2027-28 season.

The exhibition against Hoosiers will serve as the first game of Ronald Nored's Butler coaching career. With the addition of the Hoosiers to Butler's schedule, the previously-announced exhibition against Indiana State at Hinkle Fieldhouse will move to Sunday, Oct. 18.

The tip time for the match-up will be announced at a later date. Additional games on Butler's non-conference schedule will be released soon.

SERIES HISTORY WITH INDIANA:

• The series dates back to a pair of games that Butler won over the Hoosiers in February of 1901.
• Butler last hosted Indiana at Hinkle Fieldhouse Nov. 27, 1993 with the Bulldogs winning the contest, 75-71. Travis Trice scored 24 points in the game to go along with 19 points from Jermaine Guice, which lead to the Indianapolis Star headline of "Trice 'n Guice put Indiana on ice".
• The teams have played 12 times since that 1993 game at Hinkle; eight of those games have tipped at Gainbridge Fieldhouse in downtown Indianapolis with the other four being played in Bloomington.
• The teams most recently met Dec. 19, 2020 in the Crossroads Classic.
• Indiana holds a 40-15 advantage in the all-time series.

ABOUT THE BULLDOGS: Butler alum Ronald Nored takes over head coaching duties at his alma mater after spending the last decade on coaching staffs in the NBA. The Bulldogs return five players from last season's roster, headlined by starters Jalen Jackson and Drayton Jones. Jackson helped the Bulldogs to the 2025 Greenbrier Tip-Off title and 5-1 start to the 2025-26 season before missing the remainder of the campaign due to injury. Butler's newcomers include Asim Djulovic, who starred for Mega Superbet in his native Serbia, and Samu Adler, who led his Salon Vilpas team to the Korisliiga league title and earned Player of the Year honors in his native Finland. Three of the team's incoming transfers averaged double figures last season: Treyson Anderson (North Dakota State), Jordan Ellerbee (Florida Gulf Coast), and Christian Moore (The Citadel); that trio joins two power conference additions in Eduardo Klafke (Ole Miss) and Samis Calderon (Kansas).
