Louisville, KY - The Bellarmine Knights defeated the Butler Bulldogs 3-0 (25-18, 25-19, 25-23) on Saturday afternoon in Louisville. With the loss, Butler slides to 6-3 overall.
Bulldog Bites
- Jersey Loyers tallied 10 digs and four assists.
- Raegan Durbin recorded eight kills, including five in the third set. She also recorded 10 digs
- Sawyer Jones totaled six kills, including three in the second set. She also recorded two digs and two blocks.
- Elise Ward tallied six kills, including three in the third set. She also recorded five digs
- Maria Nix recorded five kills, including two kills spread evenly throughout the sets. She also recorded two blocks and one dig.

We walked into a hornets nest. Bellarmine played out of their minds, and we didn't respond well. Homecoming week is a big one for our program.
Set 1 Bellarmine (25-18)
The Bulldogs opened set one trading points with the Knights, leaving Butler trailing 15-11 at the halfway point. The Bulldogs continued to trade points back and forth, but the Knights took set one 25-18.
Set 2 Bellarmine (25-19)
Butler opened set two battling back and forth with the Knights, but the Knights still led 15-10 at the midway point of set two. The Bulldogs continued to battle with the Knights through the late moments of set two; however, the Knights ended up taking set two 25-19.
Set 3 Bellarmine (25-23)
The Knights opened set three with a controlling 9-2 lead, but the Bulldogs crawled back into set three and trailed the Knights 14-15 at the halfway point. Both teams traded points back and forth and kept the set even until the closing moment, and the Knights took set three and the match victory.

The Bulldogs will face IU Indy Wednesday, Sept. 16, at The Jungle. The Bulldogs will return home for the Butler Invitational, where they will match up against Duke on Friday, Sept. 18, and LIU on Sunday, Sept. 20, for Homecoming weekend.
