The 19
th-ranked Bulldogs returned to their winning ways with a 1-0 triumph over Seton Hall Saturday night in the Butler Bowl. With the win, Butler improves to 9-4-1 overall and 4-2 in BIG EAST play.
Eric Leonard's first goal of the season proved to be the game-winner. It came in the 22
nd minute.

Isaac Galliford in the left half of the box. Galliford was able to navigate around a defender and pull the Seton Hall goalie in his direction before delivering a short cross that Leonard netted from six yards out.
Butler keeper
Eric Dick and the defense would make the goal stand.
The Bulldogs had a 14-8 advantage in shots, with nine of those attempts coming on goal.
David Goldsmith led the team with five. Butler also had an 8-4 edge in corner kicks on the night.
Dick made two saves on the night in posting his fifth shutout of the season. It was Butler's first clean sheet since Sept. 11 against Oregon State.
The physical match included a total of 27 fouls and four yellow cards. Seton Hall's Jonathan Jimenez picked up his second yellow with 15 minutes to play, forcing the Pirates a man down.
One of Seton Hall's best chances came with just over a minute to play as a pass ricocheted in the box before a header attempt found the crossbar before Butler was able to clear the ball.
Seton Hall is now 3-10-1 on the season and 1-5 in BIG EAST play. Butler and Seton Hall have played four times in series history. Butler has won three of the four contests and SHU has yet to score a goal.
Butler returns to action at DePaul Wednesday for a 2 p.m. (Eastern, 1 p.m. Central) contest.
