Coach Parker Ross sent four players to The Old Gold & Black Classic, hosted by Purdue, over the weekend. Mikheil Khmiadashvili posted a 4-1 record in singles play on the weekend to lead the Butler contingent.

Khmiadashvili posted wins over Purdue's Carlos Macias (6-3, 6-4), in addition to IUPUI's Steven Christie (6-3, 6-0) and Jose Nader Calero (6-4, 7-5). He defeated Macias again Sunday in the flight's singles finals, 6-4, 6-0. The event featured three teams with two divisions each including six players in singles action.

Also in the Old Gold division, Lope Adelakun registered a 2-2 record in flight play with wins over the duo from IUPUI. He dropped a 7-6, 6-2 decision to Purdue's Renan Hanayama in the singles finals Sunday.

In the Black division, Alex Woldmoe and Sam Sullivan each had 2-2 records in singles pool play. It was Woldmoe's first action of the fall as he's recovering from injury. Sullivan defeated Purdue's Matt Bouggy and IUPUI's Matt Moe. Woldmoe's wins came over IUPUI's duo of Moe and Furhan Siddiki.

In doubles play, Khmiadashvili and Woldmoe went a perfect 4-0 in the round robin play that included matches with all doubles teams from other schools. Adelakun and Sullivan went 2-2. Both teams lost Sunday matches in rematches against teams played earlier in the weekend.

The men return to action in the Cleveland State Invitational Nov. 4-6.
