GO WEST, YOUNG MEN: The Bulldogs continue a western road trip with a Monday night tip in Salt Lake City against Utah. The game with the Utes is the first half of a home-and-home series that will bring the Pac-12 opponent to Hinkle Fieldhouse next season. The 9 p.m. (Eastern, 7 p.m. Mountain) game will air on Pac-12 Network.

'WIN' IN LAS VEGAS: Butler captured the Continental Tire Las Vegas Invitational with a 69-65 win over #8/9 Arizona Friday night. That came on the heels of a 76-66 win over Vanderbilt in the semifinals. This was the fourth in-season tournament title for the Bulldogs since 2006 (2006 NIT Season Tip-Off, 2007 Great Alaska Shootout, 2010 Diamond Head Classic, and the 2016 Las Vegas Invitational).

AGAINST THE UTES: Butler and Utah have met twice in the all-time series with each team taking a win. The Bulldogs won the most recent match-up in the opening round of the 2010 Diamond Head Classic in Honolulu. Utah won in Salt Lake City in 1964.

Including Friday's win over Arizona, Butler is now 12-11 all-time against current members of the Pac-12. The Bulldogs have played eight of the 12 teams.

WHAT HAPPENED IN VEGAS…: Butler's 2-0 performance in Las Vegas included Most Outstanding Player honors for Andrew Chrabascz, while Kelan Martin and Kamar Baldwin joined him on the All-Tournament Team.

TOP 10 TAKEDOWN: Arizona entered Friday's championship game undefeated and ranked No. 8 and No. 9 in the national polls. Butler's win over the Wildcats marked the third consecutive season that Butler has defeated a Top 10 opponent in non-conference play. The Bulldogs defeated North Carolina in the 2014 event at Atlantis and knocked off Purdue in the 2015 Crossroads Classic in Indianapolis. Coach Chris Holtmann has enjoyed a Top 10 win in each of his three seasons as head coach at Butler.

Holtmann picked up his 50th win as Butler's head coach with the semifinal triumph against Vanderbilt. He is now 51-22 as head coach at Butler, winning 70 percent of his games.

FUN MEMORIES: Butler's last trip to Salt Lake City was highlighted by the Bulldogs earning the first Final Four berth in program history. As part of the run to the 2010 national championship game in Indianapolis, the Bulldogs won Sweet 16 (63-59 over Syracuse) and Elite Eight (63-56 over Kansas State) contests in Salt Lake City. Gordon Hayward and Shelvin Mack, currently on the Utah Jazz, were on that 2009-10 Butler team. Mack was also on the 2010-11 team that defeated Utah as part of the Diamond Head Classic.

SCORE AND BOARD: Senior Andrew Chrabascz picked up his second career double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds Thursday against Vanderbilt. The 10 rebounds tied his career-high. Chrabascz followed that up with 14 points and seven rebounds in the win over Arizona.

CLOSING POWER: Arizona used a 15-2 run midway through the second half to retake the lead in Friday's contest. However, Butler would score 10 straight points beginning with 1:38 on the clock to turn a 63-59 deficit into a 69-65 win (Arizona scored a meaningless dunk as time expired).

AT THE LINE: The Bulldogs made 17 of its 21 free throw attempts against Arizona, highlighted by a combined 12-of-15 performance from Andrew Chrabascz and Kamar Baldwin. The team percentage was a season-high for the Bulldogs, who are hitting at a .704 clip at the charity stripe.

DO WHAT YOU DO, T-LEW: Tyler Lewis had a combined 10 assists in the two games in Las Vegas. His 5.3 assists average this season is third in the BIG EAST and just outside the Top 50 nationally. He also led the Bulldogs in scoring with 15 points against Vanderbilt Thursday. He has led the team in assists in five of six games this season.

Lewis owns a 3.2 career Asst/TO ratio, which jumps to 3.5 in his two seasons at Butler.

DOUBLING UP: Kelan Martin led Butler in scoring with 16 points against Arizona. It was his third time this season pacing the Bulldogs. He has also scored in double figures in all six games this season (43 times in his career).

EFFICIENT WORK: Kamar Baldwin posted a career-high 12 points in Thursday's win over Vanderbilt. He is shooting 60 percent from the field, 55 percent from three-point range, and 86 percent from the free throw line over his first six games. His 10.0 points per game average is tied for third on the team.

Baldwin has scored in double figures in five of his first six collegiate games.

MAKE MORE THAN YOU MISS: The Bulldogs have shot at least 53 percent in three of its six contests so far this season, including a season-best 62 percent against Bucknell. Butler is now 21-0 under Chris Holtmann when shooting 50 percent or better from the field.

Four of Butler's rotation – Nate Fowler, Tyler Wideman, Tyler Lewis, and Kamar Baldwin – are each shooting 60 percent or better from the field so far this season.

LIVIN' IN THE 80s: Butler is now 24-0 under Chris Holtmann when scoring 80 or more points. They accomplished the feat 15 times in 2015-16 and on six occasions in 2014-15 to pair with three 80+ performances on the young 2016-17 season. Butler's scoring average of 79.9 points per game last season was second in the BIG EAST and 24th nationally.

HANDLE WITH CARE: Butler has committed only 10.8 turnovers per game through its six four contests of the season. The Bulldogs are ranked among the national leaders in fewest turnovers committed (20th) and turnover margin (+6.0, which is 13th in the NCAA).

BOTH SIDES OF THE FLOOR: While Butler's 80.2 points per game is impressive, the Bulldogs have also been doing a nice job on defense, allowing just 61.0 points per game so far in the young season. That mark is second in the BIG EAST and 24th nationally.

Butler's +19.2 scoring margin is 24th nationally and leads the BIG EAST.

OFFENSIVE JUGGERNAUT: Butler shot 58 percent from the field and knocked down a season-high 13 three-pointers in routing Norfolk State, 91-55, at Hinkle Fieldhouse. The Bulldogs shot 68 percent in the second half.

DOUBLING DOWN: Five Bulldogs scored in double figures in the contest against Norfolk State, the first time this season that has occurred for Butler. Nate Fowler (17) and Joey Brunk (10) registered 10 or more for the first time this season, bringing the total number of players to post double figures in at least one game this season at eight.

TRIPLE THE FUN: Butler's 13 three-pointers against Norfolk State were not only a 2016-17 season high, it also matched the Bulldogs' best output from behind the arc from last season. Six different Bulldogs hit triples, including Avery Woodson's five bombs. Woodson had four three-pointers in the first 5:30 of the second half en route to 15 points in just 12 minutes of work.

CAREER NIGHT: Sophomore Nate Fowler posted career-highs of 17 points and seven rebounds in the win over Norfolk State. He went 6-of-7 from the field and a perfect 4-of-4 from the free throw line. The output almost matched his season total of 23 points from his rookie campaign when he saw action in 20 contests.

FRONT RUNNERS: Butler had not trailed in 83:07 of actual game action prior to Vanderbilt scoring in the opening seconds of the Las Vegas semifinal. That dated back to Kelan Martin tying the Northwestern game at 63 with two free throws with 3:07 left on the clock.

SHARING THE ROCK: Butler had a staggering 26 assists on 32 made field goals against Norfolk State. Tyler Lewis led the team with a season-high eight assists, including seven in the first half. Eleven of Butler's 12 players registered at least one assist in the contest. That comes on the heels of Butler assisting on 19 of 36 made field goals against Bucknell.

GAME-WINNER: Butler defeated Northwestern, 70-68, Wednesday night at Hinkle Fieldhouse as freshman Kamar Baldwin hit a 17-foot jumper with 0.4 seconds remaining on the clock. Baldwin set up the final possession with a steal with 30 seconds remaining in the game. The match-up was part of the Gavitt Tipoff Games, an annual series between the BIG EAST and Big Ten.

TOO CLOSE FOR COMFORT: The win over Northwestern featured 17 ties and 16 lead changes. Butler's largest lead was five midway through the second half. Northwestern's largest lead was six with approximately six minutes to play, following a 10-0 run. The teams were tied for more than 25 percent of the game (10:15 of game action).

UNLIKELY SOURCE: Tyler Wideman, featuring a 6-of-8 performance from the field, led Butler with 14 points against Bucknell. It was the second time in his career that he has led Butler in scoring. He did that despite playing only 17 minutes.

HOME COOKING: Butler has now won 32 consecutive home games against non-conference opponents. The streak dates back to a loss to Pittsburgh in the 2012 College Basketball Invitational (CBI).

Butler coach Chris Holtmann is 30-6 at Hinkle Fieldhouse as head coach of the Bulldogs.

SEASONED VETERANS: Butler graduated experienced players Roosevelt Jones and Kellen Dunham from last season's line-up, but the starting five that Coach Chris Holtmann sent out in the 2016-17 season opener combines for 20 seasons of experience in college programs. The backcourt of Tyler Lewis and Avery Woodson are fifth-year players, while Andrew Chrabascz is a traditional senior. Tyler Wideman and Kelan Martin have appeared in every Butler contest over their two-plus seasons in Indianapolis.

OPENING NIGHT: Tyler Lewis went a perfect 7-of-7 from the field in the opener against Northern Colorado. The seven made field goals set a new career-high for Lewis, while the 16 points were just one shy of his personal-best.

AFTER 20 MINUTES: Butler took a lead into the half against both Vanderbilt and Arizona, and ended up scoring the win. That has been a typical occurrence under Chris Holtmann as the Bulldogs are 45-7 when leading at the half during his time on the Butler sidelines.
