Butler finished in a tie for sixth at the 2016 BIG EAST Men's Golf Championship, played over three days in Callawassie Island, S.C. The tournament was Butler's final competition of the 2015-16 season, which ended Tuesday, May 3.
Joey Arcuri led the Bulldogs with a three-round score of 220. The four-over tournament score placed him seventh in the field. He followed an opening round 73 with a one-under 71 in the second round that was completed early Tuesday morning. He closed with a 76 in Tuesday's third and final 18.
Butler began Tuesday by finishing Monday's round, which was suspended due to rain. The Bulldogs carded a team total of 292 in the second round, following Sunday's first round score of 305. The 292 was the third-best team score for the round.
The Bulldogs shot 304 Tuesday to finish with a three-round score of 901. That tied Seton Hall for sixth.
Zack Carrabine and Brigham Stewart each finished at 227 (+11). Carrabine had a steady performance with rounds of 76, 75 and 76. Stewart fired an even-par 72 in the second round and followed that with a round of 75 Tuesday. Both players were part of a tie for the 20th position.
Gehrig Hollatz shot 77 in the final round for a three-round score of 232 (+16). He finished in a tie for 29
th.
Max Gagnier finished in a tie for 34
th with rounds of 76-81-78 (+19).
Georgetown won the team title with a three-round total of 864 (even par). The Hoyas won by 27 strokes in the team competition as they were followed by Xavier (+27), DePaul (+32), Marquette (+34), St. John's (+35), Butler and Seton Hall (+37), Villanova (+62), and Creighton (+82).
Seton Hall's Lloyd Jefferson Go won the individual title with a six-under total of 210. He had rounds of 70-65-75. Georgetown's Sam Madsen was second at -3, followed by Jose Montano of Xavier and Georgetown's Cole Berman, each at -3.
