YPSILANTI – The Bulldogs moved to 1-0-1 early in the 2016 season after tying Eastern Michigan on Sunday afternoon 0-0. BU took more overall shots, more shots on goal and had two more corner kicks than the Eagles, but neither team was able to find the back of the net leading to the draw.

Tari St. John said postgame. We played 210 minutes this weekend and defensively our organization kept Eastern Michigan from creating anything dangerous. To come out of today's match with a shutout after playing over 200 minutes opening weekend is a positive note."
The Bulldogs returned to action on Sunday after defeating Ohio Friday night 2-1 in the season opener. BU had to earn their first win of the season in overtime, while Eastern Michigan decided to sit out on opening day, making today's contest their season opener.
"Offensively, I think we can be sharper and more clinical," St. John added. "As was the case Friday, we could have been up a couple goals in the first 30 minutes."
BU dominated the action in the first half by taking seven shots compared to just two for the home team. The Bulldogs would once again win the shot battle in the second half, although EMU pushed the tempo in each overtime period.
Fouls were even across the board at 10-10 while the Eagle keeper made one more save than Butler.
The Bulldogs went with
Hannah Luedtke in goal for the second consecutive game. She made four stops, all of which came during the overtime periods. On the other side, Kaylin Williams kept BU off the scoreboard. She made three saves during the first frame and two in the second half.
Freshman
Carly Goehring paced BU offensively with a team-high five shots.
Serina Kashimoto was also active for BU with three shots. Butler was whistled for nine offside calls on Sunday, compared to just one from EMU.
The 'Dawgs will return to action next weekend with a pair of home games. The Indiana Hoosiers will visit the Butler Bowl on Friday night at 7 PM and the weekend will come to a close with a 1 PM match at home vs. the Akron Zips.
